About the Project
The Ontario Ministry of Transportation has retained AECOM Canada ULC to conduct a Preliminary Design and Class Environmental Assessment Study focusing on the replacement and rehabilitation of structures, interchange modifications and establishing the footprint of Highway 401 for future interim six and ultimate eight lanes, from 1 km west of Highway 15 to 1 km east of Highway 2/King Street (approximately 27 km), including the Thousand Islands Parkway/Highway 2 interchange. The purpose of the Study is to identify a Recommended Plan that addresses current and future transportation needs in the Study area as part of the Ministry’s ongoing review of safety and operational needs for the provincial highway network.
